SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. -

A jury found a Sevierville woman guilty of attempted aggravated child abuse after she tried to set her newborn son's car seat on fire in 2010.

Prosecutors said Becky Eury attempted to use a lighter to try to ignite her five-week-old son's car seat, while the defense argued the young mother had a history of mental illness and postpartum depression.

The baby was not injured in the incident, nor was his three-year-old brother, who was also present at the time.

Eury has remained jailed since May 2010. She is scheduled to be sentenced on September 5.
