NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Two men died on Interstate 40 after a crash involving multiple vehicles early Saturday morning.

The wreck was reported just after 3 a.m. along I-40 West at mile marker 212, near the exit for Fesslers Lane.

Police said Tavares Natt, 37, of Hermitage, was driving a Dodge Charger east in the westbound lanes when he struck a GMC Jimmy SUV head-on.

Both Natt and Gary Hendrix, 66, the driver of the SUV, died at the scene.

The Charger also clipped two other vehicles, a Nissan Versa and a Chevy Tahoe.  The occupants of the Versa and Tahoe were not seriously hurt.

The medical examiner will determine whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
