2 killed in Robertson County accident

ORLINDA, Tenn. -

Two people were killed in a two-vehicle accident in Robertson County Thursday night.

The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Highway 52 near Cook Road in Orlinda.

Officials reported that 43-year-old Jerry Jackson of Cross Plains was travelling eastbound on Highway 52 in a Chevrolet Malibu when he ran off the roadway.

Jackson then corrected back onto the roadway, t-boning 61-year-old Frances Kemp of Springfield, who was travelling west in a Ford Focus.

The collision killed both Jackson and Kemp.

The accident report states that Jackson, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, had been drinking.
