Man wanted for stealing copper wire from telephone tower


Metro police are working to identify the man who stole 50 feet of copper wire from a south Nashville telephone tower site late last month.

According to police the suspect cut a hole in a fence before cutting large pieces of copper wire off the side of the transmission building and tower on the afternoon of June 20.

At the time of the theft, the man who is believed to be in his 20s had a short beard and mustache.

The stolen copper wire is said to be valued at $1,200.

Police added they want to question the man regarding other coppers thefts in the Nashville area.

Anyone with information on the man's identity or whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
