WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. -

A new Brentwood boutique combines high fashion with philanthropy.

Couture for a Cause opened its doors in June with the motto: "Look good. Feel great. Pay it forward."

Founder Patricia Apple explained why she decided to open the boutique.

"I love these folks who work hard every day, you know, helping the underprivileged, disabled, elderly, rescuing animals. They work hard, but so much of their time has to be spent raising money and that can be really time consuming and expensive," she said. "Couture for a Cause is a free, easy way to supplement their revenue."

The shop is stocked with designer clothes donated by local women.

Donors provide the clothes and receive a tax deductible receipt. They also choose a beneficiary consignor to receive 50% of the sale price once the item is sold.

"When a donor comes in, we give them a receipt, and when the item sells, half of it, we write a check to a charity in their name," said Apple.

Couture for a Cause is located at 127 Franklin Road in Brentwood.
