HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. -

Authorities in Christian County, Kentucky are searching for a 20-year-old man who escaped from the county jail around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The inmate goes by two names.

In Hopkinsville, he's known as Jose Feliciano, according to local authorities.  However, detectives in Clarksville, Tennessee say his real name is Luis Dechoudens.

Police in Hopkinsville arrested Dechoudens during the early morning hours of June 15 while investigating several area burglaries.

Officers saw Dechoudens sitting nearby in a vehicle. Police questioned him and then he fled.

Dechoudens was arrested because officers had to chase him twice and he kicked a police K9 in the head.

Authorities later discovered the car Dechoudens was in was stolen.

He was charged with evading police, assault on a service animal and receiving stolen property under $10,000.

Dechoudens is wanted by Clarksville police for statutory rape, three aggravated burglaries, two thefts, evading arrest and two parole violations.

Dechoudens is approximately five feet, eight inches tall and weighs 165 pounds.  He has a large tattoo on the front of his neck of a star with wings coming off the sides of the star.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Clarksville police at 931-648-TIPS (8477) or Christian County authorities at 270-887-4152.

Dechoudens' alias, Jose Feliciano, is a singer best known for his rendition of the Christmas song "Feliz Navidad."
