Shots fired after argument erupts in large crowd

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A shooting left one man injured just south of downtown Nashville early Monday morning.

The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. at the intersection of Claiborne and Lafayette streets.

Witnesses told police that a large group of people was gathered in the intersection when an argument broke out and escalated to gunfire.

The victim was shot one time in the leg.

He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police do not have a suspect at this time. They found several shell casings on the ground outside of the victim's car.
