BROOKSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the cause of a house fire in northern Kentucky that killed five people.

Two bodies were removed Saturday morning from the scene of the overnight fire at a two-story home in Powersville, a community outside of Brooksville in Bracken County, officials said.

Three more bodies were found in the rubble later Saturday. The ages and names of the victims have not been released.

Neighbor Michael Thomas told WKYT-TV that the victims were a woman and four children.

One man survived the fire and was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was in stable condition.

Kentucky State Police spokesman David Jones did not immediately return a call to The Associated Press on Sunday.
