2 in custody after shots fired during attempted robbery

Two men have been taken into police custody for their involvement in an attempted robbery Thursday night in Mt. Juliet.

The incident was reported around 8 p.m. in the 700 block of Curd Road.

The 23-year-old victim reported to police he was approached by two black males who tried to rob him.

A single shot was fired during a brief struggle before the suspects, identified as 23-year-old Roderick Majors and Mario Newsome, 24, fled the scene in a silver car.

No injuries were reported.

Both Newsome and Majors are charged with aggravated robbery and criminal conspiracy.

Police said at the time of his arrest, Majors was wanted by Nashville and Wilson County authorities.

Authorities are continuing to search for a 17-year-old male who is believed to have been involved in Thursday night's incident.
