OVERTON COUNTY, Tenn. -

An Overton County softball coach has been taken into custody after he allegedly sent inappropriate messages to a player.

Patrick Johnson, a former coach for the Tennessee Orange Crush Girls, a traveling softball team, was arrested on Thursday following a six week investigation by Overton County detectives.

The investigation began after authorities received information the 37-year-old was sending inappropriate text messages to one of his players.

"Her parents found some explicit texts on her phone and so they brought it to me," Chief Investigator in the case Tom Rosecrants told Nashville's News 2.

During the investigation authorities posed as the minor and continued texting with Johnson.

He was arrested after he arrived at a specified location where he had arranged to meet the underage teen for sexual relations.

Authorities told Nashville's News 2 Johnson's arrest is not the first time he has been under scrutiny for his actions with teenage girls.

Two weeks before the softball season ended, he was asked to step down from his position because of an allegation of text messages. Detectives added they learned of another encounter from his wife.

"I have spoken to his wife, and she stated that not too long ago, he had a situation where he was contacting a 14-year-old girl on Facebook and it caused marital problems," Rosecrants said.

He continued, "When I spoke with her she was concerned something like this was going to happen so that made me believe there is a good possibility there are multiple victims out there."

Officials added as a traveling coach Johnson has had interaction with many teenage girls.

Johnson is charged with solicitation of a minor, solicitation of a minor by an authority figure, solicitation by electronic means and attempted statutory rape by an authority figure.

He was booked into the Overton County jail on a $200,000 bond.  A court date is set for next Thursday.
