Electrolux to donate 200 air conditioners to residents in need
SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. -
Appliance manufacturer Electrolux will donate 200 window air conditioning units valued at nearly $30,000 to residents in Springfield affected by the intense summer heat.
United Way of Robertson County, Cooperative Outreach for Personal Emergencies (C.O.P.E.) and Springfield Electric and Cumberland Electric Membership Cooperation (C.E.M.C.) are working together to house and distribute the units.
The air conditioners will be distributed over the next few weeks.
"Being able to assist residents of Robertson County with air conditioners is a great pleasure. We have numerous elderly and family residents that will benefit from these products. Having Electrolux behind our community in such a way is priceless," Michelle Powell, executive director of United Way of Robertson County, said.
Robertson County residents in need of an air conditioner must fill out an application at C.O.P.E, located at 810 South Main Street in Springfield. Applicants must provide proper identification.
