Fire breaks out at Nashville apartment complex

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

An apartment fire was quickly contained in Nashville on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred just before 4 p.m. at the Covenant Crossing Apartments located on Thompson Lane.

Evan Williams, a resident, reported to Nashville's News 2 that he saw yellow smoke coming out of a window.

"Within two minutes, there's yellow smoke coming out of a second window. And then within about five minutes, we actually see flames coming out of the second window. It was crazy," he explained.

Fire officials were able to contain the fire quickly.

All residents were able to evacuate safely.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
