Pursuit follows armed robbery in La Vergne, 1 in custody

LA VERGNE, Tenn. -

Police have one person in custody following a robbery Friday morning in La Vergne.

According to a La Vergne police department spokesperson, the suspect fled following the robbery at a La Vergne home and shots were fired during a pursuit with officers.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation.  Spokesperson Kristin Helm said two officers fired a weapon at the suspect vehicle.  It was not clear if the suspect was hit.  No officers were injured.

Police searched the Antioch and Hermitage areas immediately following the crime but the suspect was not located.

A few hours later, the suspect's red Lincoln Navigator was found abandoned in the parking lot at the Global Mall at the Crossings.

Late Friday, La Vergne police confirmed one person was in police custody.  A second suspect was still at large.
