LA VERGNE, Tenn. -

La Vergne police are searching for more than one suspect involved in a home invasion late Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported around 3 p.m. at a residence in the 600 block of Blake Moore Drive.

Police said that multiple suspects entered the home where two adults, a male and a female, and a child reside.

Detectives reported that that one of the residents called 911 from inside the home.

Both of the adult victims were taken to the hospital with injuries and are cooperating with investigators.

Some neighbors witnessed the victims around the time of the invasion.

"There was police outside and I was like, 'Oh what's going on', and there was a man walking down the street. He had blood all over his face and he was like, 'Somebody help me! Somebody help me'," said a nearby resident who chose not to reveal her identity.

Residents in the quiet community told Nashville's News 2 that there has been some questionable activity coming from the home for some time.

They reported that the home is a high-traffic area with plenty of cars that come and go on a daily basis.

Neighbors said the residents of the home moved in earlier this this year.

Police are currently searching for several suspects. They say victims possibly knew them.

The child was not injured during the incident.

No arrests have been made.

No additional details were immediately released.
