Police arrested two men early Tuesday morning following an argument on Percy Priest Lake in Davidson County.
According to affidavits, the men, Timothy Flanagan, 43, and James Phillips, 51, were arguing in a tent on Luau Island on the lake when Phillips pointed a gun at Flanagan.
A struggled over the weapon ensued and the gun discharged. Neither man was hit.
Phillips got into a kayak to leave the island, leaving Flanagan stranded, an affidavit stated. Flanagan followed and tipped the kayak.
In response, Phillips told police he grabbed an oar and struck Flanagan in the face.
Both men suffered minor injuries in the altercation.
Flanagan was charged with domestic assault and booked into the Metro jail on a $2,000 bond.
Phillips was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked on a $10,000 bond.
