Mark Sevier, 36, was arrested Sunday for repeatedly sending country singer John Rich harassing emails.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A Nashville attorney was arrested Sunday for stalking country singer John Rich and his family.
According to a police affidavit, Mark Sevier, 36, repeatedly harassed and stalked Rich for more than a year.
Last summer, Rich took out two restraining orders against Sevier, ordering him to have "no contact whatsoever" with Rich or his family.
Sevier, however, continued to send Rich harassing emails including one containing a picture of a man depicting him "wearing very little if any clothing with an American flag draped over his body and having a substance, believed to be representing blood, covering himself," the affidavit stated.
Another email specifically mentioned Rich's two young sons.
The country singer told police he feared for the safety of his wife and kids.
Sevier was arrested at his Nashville church Sunday and charged with aggravated stalking. He has since been released on bond.
Nashville's News 2 spoke with Sevier over the phone. He said that he and Rich have been involved in ongoing litigation since 2008 over Sevier's former record label.
He also denied harassing the country star.
Sevier was charged with vandalism in September of 2011 following a fight with his roommate.
According to police, the fight was over a photo shoot that was supposed to take place at their home.
Sevier got upset and kicked a big screen TV in a "fit of rage," an affidavit read.
