NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Former Brentwood Academy football standout Josh Tate has been identified as one of three suspects in a high profile sexual assault case at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Tate, a junior linebacker for the Navy football team, is charged with sexual assault in an incident that allegedly occurred in April 2012 in Annapolis, Maryland.

A female classmate alleges that three football players bragged to others that they raped her while she was passed out at a party.

The victim concealed her identity while speaking to a Baltimore news station.

"I was drinking.  I had drank a lot.  And from that point on I don't really remember what happened.  I woke up the next morning with bruises," the victim said.

The rape allegedly occurred at a home that was rented by Navy football players.

The two other men charged in the case are former players.

Tate graduated from Brentwood Academy in 2010.

The admiral for the Naval Academy ordered that all three men be charged and be taken before an Article 32 Hearing, which is similar to a criminal grand jury.

Tate has been suspended from the football team pending the outcome of the investigation.
