NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police arrested a man in Hermitage Saturday following an argument with his girlfriend and standoff at the couple's Lebanon Pike apartment.

Police surrounded the apartment in the Dawn Villa complex near the intersection of Central Pike Saturday afternoon.

Investigators said Jason Keith, 37, threatened his girlfriend with a handgun after an argument over finances.

According to the affidavit, Keith allegedly grabbed a pistol and threatened to kill himself and later pointed it at his girlfriend.

Keith allegedly said that "everything ends today and someone is going to die."

The woman ran outside and called her parents for help.

SWAT team members were called to the scene to negotiate with Keith around 3:55 p.m.

Keith barricaded himself in the apartment and refused to come out.

Police said the Keith finally exited the apartment just before 5:30 p.m. and surrendered peacefully.

Keith was charged with aggravated assault and booked into the Metro jail on a $30,000 bond.
