A night of under age drinking lands a Hendersonville mother and her homecoming queen daughter behind bars.
Hendersonville police responded to reports of a house party on the 100 block of Wickman Court on June 12.
According to the arrest affidavit, Sara Lamb, 18, was arrested and charged with underage consumption after police were called to her mother's home where she was having her graduation party.
Police told Nashville's News 2 they found Sara on the back deck of the house holding what appeared to be an open bottle of beer.
According to the report, the 2013 Hendersonville High School graduate and homecoming queen admitted she was only 18 and drank "four or five beers" after denying to officers that she drank all night.
According to the report, Sara's mother, 46-year-old Laleh Lamb, was not home when police arrived, but returned while officers were there.
Police said the mother left the home to attend to her ill mother.
Police also told Nashville's News 2 that they asked Laleh if they could enter the home to see if there were any other underage drinkers, but she refused to let them in.
"People have a right to refuse the police consent to enter their home but in this case we were really concerned about the possibility that kids were drinking in the home," said Hendersonville police Detective Neal Harris.
Officers eventually obtained a search warrant to enter the home. When officers entered the home they spotted a nine-year old boy who they believe was in the home at the time of the party.
Laleh was charged with child neglect and contributing to delinquency of a minor.
Both mother and daughter are scheduled to appear in Sumner County General Sessions Court July 22.
