Monday night's wet weather lingers into Tuesday morning, but the showers will become isolated with more breaks in the rain during the commute.

During the afternoon, Middle Tennessee will be completely dry, except for southern parts of the state near the Alabama state line where the rain chance continues.

There have been a few reports of flooding in south Nashville near Murfreesboro Road and Briley Parkway. There have also been reports of standing water in west Nashville near American Road. Perhaps the heaviest flooding happened in Cornersville near the Texas T Campground.

The weather also contributed to many homes in Nashville being without power overnight. At one point, Nashville Electric reported over 1,000 outages across Davidson County.

The rain really cooled down the mid-state in the early morning hours with temperatures in the 60s. As partial sunshine returns to the area this afternoon, we'll rebound to the low-and-mid 80s.

A slow-moving front, which is helping to cause the overnight and morning rain, will switch our breeze to the northwest, but it will remain on the muggy side.

A persistent light northeast breeze will drop the humidity for Wednesday, although afternoon highs should reach the mid-to-upper 80s under a mostly sunny sky.

Expect highs near 90° as we head from Thursday through the weekend and beyond.
