According to PEOPLE.com, Tish Cyrus has decided to end her 19-year marriage to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus in what can only be considered a rocky end.
The pair have five children, including singer Miley Cyrus, 20.
In a statement to PEOPLE, Tish said, "This is a personal matter and we are working to find a resolution that is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time."
Billy Ray said in a separate statement, "This is a personal matter and we are doing what is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time."
This isn't the first time divorce has been a topic for the couple. In 2010, Billy Ray filed for divorce, but just five months later, he announced on The View, "I want to put my family back together."
Tish expressed her excitement on her Facebook page. She said, "Big thanks to all of our family, friends, and fans who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers."
She continued, "Our family weathered a huge storm and I feel we are stronger than we have ever been." Lately, it has become evident that the couple's once strong bond is cracking.
On May 29, Cyrus was asked to comment on his relationship with Tish. He said, "We've both been very busy in pursuit of different things we have going on. We're taking it one day at a time."
Though their date of separation is listed as "to be determined," according to documents filed Thursday in L. A. Superior Court, Tish is requesting primary physical and legal custody of their daughter, Noah, 13. Billy Ray will have visitation rights.
Tish is also seeking spousal support and wants the singer to cover her attorney's fees.
