Metro police investigate shooting at north Nashville hotel

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police are investigating an early Friday morning shooting at the Days Inn in north Nashville.

According to Metro Police Captain Ben Dicke, the shooting happened just before 4:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of Dickerson Pike.

Two groups of males began arguing. The argument escalated into a physical altercation in the parking lot of the hotel, right next to a Waffle House. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired approximately five shots.

A 25-year-old man was hit in the arm. He was taken to Skyline Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects fled on foot. It was not immediately clear what direction they took off in.

Metro police did not immediately release a suspect description.
