2nd charged in robbery, shooting death of 21-year-old

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A second man has been found guilty in the shooting death of young man.

The crime occurred on Highland Avenue in 2007 when 21-year-old Corey Sanders was robbed of cash, marijuana and shot to death in his front yard.

Several men were charged with his murder, including Devonta Cunningham, 20, Deaundra Smith, 19, and William Gentry Davis, 20

Cunningham was convicted of first degree felony murder and especially aggravated robbery in 2012 and is currently serving a life sentence.

Deaundra Smith, now 25 years old, has received the same conviction.

A life sentence requires a minimum of 51 years in prison.

Smith's sentencing hearing for the especially aggravated robbery charge will take place in July.

Four other men still have pending charges related to this case.
