Man hospitalized after getting shot in backside

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A man is in critical condition after he was shot in his backside early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened just after 12 a.m., Midnight in the 1700 block of 10th Avenue North.

Metro police told Nashville's News 2 an 18-year-old was walking home from the market with a friend when they were approached by a man who started firing shots at them.

The teen was hit once his backside.

He was taken to an area hospital to be treated for critical but non-life threatening injuries.

The gunman fled the scene.

The victim's provided a brief description. Metro police are looking for a tall, skinny black male with short hair.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Metro Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

No further details were immediately released. The investigation is ongoing.
