Vanderbilt eliminated by Louisville 2-1


The second ranked team in college baseball isn't going to the College World Series.  The Vanderbilt Commodores were upset by the Louisville Cardinals 2-1 Sunday at Hawkins Field eliminating the Dores from the NCAA Tournament.

Jeff Thompson was dominate on the mound for the Cards giving up just one run in seven innings.  The Big East pitcher of the year struck out nine  and gave up only three hits.

Vanderbilt freshman Zander Wiel homered in the sixth inning for Vandy's only run. The Commodores (54-12) stranded 11 runners for the second straight game.
