An accident in Nashville left one person dead and a passenger critically injured Saturday.
At 5:15 a.m. Christopher Sexton, 31, was driving a Toyota 4-Runner on 8th Avenue South and Douglas Avenue when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a building.
Sexton was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
His passenger, Beth Robertson, 33, was critically injured. She was also taken to Vanderbilt.
Police said there was no evidence of alcohol at the scene of the crash.
Investigators have not yet determined why the vehicle left the roadway.
