A man faces several kidnapping and assault charges after threatening and holding his children and their mother hostage by gunpoint Tuesday night.
Jimetria Davila called police when Darrin Crockett threatened her with a black handgun and held her and her kids hostage at their apartment on Hickory Hollow Parkway.
The incident spawned from an earlier argument about him leaving. She told him he needed to take his things and move his belongings out.
According to Davila, this enraged him and he allegedly picked up the chair she was sitting in and threw it out from under her.
After stating "Call the police, I don't care," he grabbed a black handgun and waved it around. He then motioned as if he was going to hit her.
Crockett then stated "I'm going to hold ya'll hostage," and then left the room to get their children, with the gun still in hand.
At this point, Davila called 911 and placed the phone on the floor so he wouldn't know she called.
When Crockett reentered the room with the children, he saw her on the phone.
He stated "Tell them to hurry up. I'm going to die," and then pointed the gun at her head and then at his own head. He also allegedly threatened to kill her, the kids, and himself.
Davila told the dispatcher she was scared he was going to shoot her and her children and was afraid to leave in fear of being shot.
Crockett was later arrested on several charges including multiple accounts of especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.
