NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

An apartment complex still under construction caught fire Tuesday evening.

The fire started around 7 p.m. in the 2300 block of 12th Avenue South.

According to authorities, the fire began within the flooring and moved it's way between the walls.

Crews were able to put the fire out around 8:15 p.m.

Firefighters used thermal imaging equipment to find the fire's exact location and had to tear up the floor in order to extinguish it.

The water main was damaged when they arrived on the scene and the building's fire equipment was unusable, so crews had to run hoses into the building.

No further information has been released at this time.
