Man chased by police after home invasion

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A man has been arrested after a home invasion on Hibbitts Road in Nashville Sunday morning.

According to police, just after 4 a.m. the suspect kicked in the door of the home and assaulted the victim.

The suspect immediately fled in a white Grand AM.

Officers were establishing a perimeter when the suspect sped through the intersection intentionally swerving at an officer.

The suspect was then spotted at Donelson Pike driving on two flat tires.

He stopped near Knapp Boulevard and Couchville Pike and fled on foot.

An officer chased the suspect into the woods where the suspect attacked the officer. The officer was able to subdue the suspect and take him into custody.

The officer is being treated for a minor injury.

Police confirmed the suspect and the victim have some type of relationship, but the definition of that relationship is unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
