THOMPSON'S STATION, Tenn. -

A Williamson County family who adopted eight children from Sierra Leone in March is adjusting to their new routine.

Mike and Hayley Jones, who have two biological children, previously told Nashville's News 2 the lengthy adoption process took three years.

"It's been something that we've been hoping and praying for and waiting on, so it's just finally come to fruition and it's just great to have everybody here," Mike said.

The children, named Michael, Samuel, Levi, Malachi, Isaiah, Judah, Zion and Gabrielle, range in ages five to 16.

"We're kind of really starting to get in a grove and the older ones are really starting to help out and everybody is kind of getting used to each other and kind of knowing the rules of the place," Hayley said.

The Jones' told Nashville's News 2 their new routine of caring for 10 children starts bright and early each day.

"I'm up early in the morning before sunrise starting on breakfast and kind of getting that ready," Hayley explained. "Kids get up and eat breakfast. They get dressed; I have all the clothes laid out the night before. I take five of them to school and then I have the other five here homeschooling."

Despite the long days and early hours, the family said they would not have it any other way.

"There's always going to be work to do. My house is never going to be spotless, nothing is ever going to be finished. You get one thing done and then there's something else to be done," Hayley said.

She continued, "Just kind of remember the important thing is our family and us being together and whether the house is clean or dirty, it doesn't really matter. We'll be ok."

The children's father in Sierra Leone was killed in a boating accident. Their mother believed they would have a better life with the Jones family in Tennessee.
