1 injured after crane collapses on car in Gallatin

GALLATIN, Tenn. -

One man sustained minor injuries after a crane collapsed and struck his vehicle early Tuesday afternoon in Gallatin.

The incident occurred on Highway 109 just north of the Cumberland River Bridge project.

Authorities said the crane struck a Toyota Corolla that was occupied by the victim and another man.

The injured man was transported to Sumner Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Crews are continuing to work to remove the crane from the roadway.

The construction is a TDOT project to widen the roadway near the Cumberland River Bridge.

Highway 109 is open as of 7 p.m.
