'Gray's on Main' to serve southern flavors in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

For more than 65 years, Gray's was a landmark pharmacy located along downtown Franklin's historic Main Street.

For the past decade, it has sat vacant, until Andy Marshall, owner of Puckett's family of restaurants, purchased the building in 2012.

That's when Joni and Michael Cole stepped in, with a mission to make Gray's the premiere dining destination in downtown Franklin, with vintage spirits and elevated Southern flavors.

The Coles have taken great pains to stay true to the original décor, using original ceiling tiles, reclaimed wood for the pharmacy as the floor, and old prescription containers.

The names of the pharmacists who worked at grays are printed on glass panes along side of the door and an elevator from the 1870's remains on the third floor.

The first floor will be a dining room, the second a music venue, and the third will be a members-only meeting area with the best view in the house.

Gray's on Main plans to open its doors by July.
