Thousands of people are without power Tuesday morning after a driver crashed into a utility pole.
The incident happened just after 10:30 p.m. Monday at White Bridge Pike and Corbett Lane.
Metro police told Nashville's News 2 the driver took out the pole. Officers discovered prescription drugs on the driver and he was charged with DUI.
Approximately 1,000 to 2,000 people are without power.
The Nashville Electric Service has been contacted to restore power. Officials said power isn't expected to be back on until 10 or 11 a.m.
White Bridge Pike is closed at Corbett Lane. It is expected to remain closed until 7 or 8 a.m.
