NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Former Vanderbilt star David Price left the Tampa Bay Rays game early Wednesday night with tightness in his left triceps.

The defending American League Cy Young Award winner left with one out in the third inning after giving up an RBI single to David Ortiz of the Red Sox.

Price noticeably grimaced after the play and manager Joe Maddon and the team's trainer all joined Price on the bound before he walked off the mound for good.

Price has struggled this season with a 1-3 record and a 4.78 ERA. He was charged with four runs and five hits in 2 1-3 innings.
