MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

A woman was arrested for driving under the influence after she was discovered asleep at the wheel of her car with two children in the back seat.

Police responded to a call around 1 a.m. Saturday at a Walmart in Mufreesboro.

The report state that an officer was waved down by an employee who said that she believed a female customer was driving under the influence of narcotics.

The employee told police that the woman was falling asleep at the counter inside the store and the young children with her had to wake her up.

The employee said that the woman was currently slumped over the steering wheel of her car in the parking lot.

Authorities made contact with the woman, identified as 29-year-old Angel Lovvorn, who had run over a concrete curb in parking lot, came to a stop, and was now sleeping with two unconstrained children in the back seat.

Police said Lovvern had constricted pupils, droopy eyes and slow speech.

She failed to pass field sobriety tests and was deemed as too impaired to operate a motor vehicle.

She was arrested for DUI and transferred to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office for processing, however upon her arrival, her condition had worsened.

Lovvern was transported to the Middle Tennessee Medical Center where she stated that she had taken Xanax as well as Roxycodone.

Authorities also discovered that Lovvern had two prior DUIs in 2007 and 2009, and that she initially gave the officer a wrong name upon making contact.

She was then charged with driving under the influence for the third time, felony reckless endangerment and criminal impersonation, as well as driving on a revoked license because it was taken away due a prior DUI arrest.

The children were released to their mother.
