NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A woman has now been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of her husband.

Police responded to a home on Stonewater Drive on March 13 after Tiffany Spence called 911 to report that her estranged husband, 29-year-old Fabian Spence, had been shot.

Police said that Tiffany reported an argument developed once she arrived at the home to drop off their two children.

According to what she told police that night, Fabian reached into his rear waistband to retrieve a pistol, and Tiffany wrestled the gun from him and fired it.

Fabian died at the scene of a gunshot wound in his back.

Authorities further examined forensic evidence, which told a different story.

A grand jury indicted Tiffany on first-degree murder charges.

Tiffany, 31, surrendered herself Friday evening.
