Every room and feature in the new Music City Center lets visitors know they are in America's home to country music, but the grand ballroom on the top floor takes the cake. The ballroom is 57,000 square feet and built in the shape of a guitar."The architectural concept of this room is if you took a guitar and cut it in two and put that half up against the ceiling," said Larry Atema, Senior Project Manager."It's the largest ballroom in the state. Behind us is a kitchen that will produce 25,000 meals per day," he added.Final touches are complete in the room with no columns, making the space quite flexible. It features two massive doors that can divide the room so that both sides can be used simultaneously. The guitar shaped ceiling is beautiful to the eye, but also very functional, as it hides all of the stage lighting."This is a full production stage with an upper lift it will take nearly every big act that Nashville has to offer," Atema said. The Music City Center is planned to open on May 18 and 19.
