Clarksville police is investigating an alleged attempted kidnapping that occurred Wednesday morning.
According to police, the incident involving an 11-year-old boy occurred in the Paradise Hill Road and Hietts Lane area.
Police reported an unknown white male allegedly jumped out from behind some bushes and attempted to pull the child into a green minivan.
The boy was able to escape after he struck the man in the head with a stick.
"I have a small fence in the backyard that I typically let [my son] ride his bike in and that won't be happening anytime soon, especially not until he's caught," said Kelli Elliott concerned parent who is thinking about moving from the neighborhood.
She continued, "It makes me scared of all the kids walking around a lot of them go to local school."
Ashley Romero, another concerned resident, is upset that a child had to suffered such a traumatic event.
"It could have been one of my nephews or nieces," said Ashley Romero. "I hope they find him. I hope they get him."
The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s. He has red hair and freckles and was last seen wearing a black sleeveless shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes with a dragon tattoo on his arm.
He may have gotten away in a green, beat up, minivan with a pointed front and a Hatchback style rear with a lift gate style back door.'
