Flood Watch In Effect; "Turn Around, Don't Drown"

Don't underestimate the force of water Don't underestimate the force of water

Although the rain may taper off in our western counties, it will continue from the I-65 corridor eastward today, tonight, and part of Sunday.

2-3" of rain is possible in Nashville, and 3-4" in eastern sections including towns like Manchester, McMinnville, Smithville, Sparta, Cookeville, Carthage, Lafayette, Gainsboro, Livingston, Celina, Monterey, Crossville, and Spencer.

An upper level low moving slowly eastward out of Missouri and Arkansas will draw up copious amounts of Gulf moisture.

Some computer models are showing an extra surge of heavy rain in the east and southeast sections of Middle Tennessee this evening and overnight into Sunday.

Watch out for hydroplaning, and if you see a flooded roadway, remember, "Turn Around, Don't Drown".

Be especially careful if you have to be out tonight.
