Fit Family Challenge Events /Nashville Parent: Earn 100 bonus points in the Challenge for attending one of these events!!!

  • Saturday, May 4, 2013: Mayor's Field Day at LP Field 9 a.m. to Noon

    Families with children five and older can join Mayor Karl Dean and the Tennessee Titans for a morning of fitness activities and games. Mayor's Field Day is designed for families and individuals of diverse fitness levels.

    Participants are engaged in a relaxed, tournament-type event designed around learning new, fun, kid-friendly ways to be active. Attendees will enjoy creative games, a fitness fair and the chance to meet and interact with Tennessee Titans players and T-Rac.

  • Saturday, May 11, 2013: Family Fitness Challenge at Rutherford County YMCA located at 205 North Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Schedule of Events: 
    10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.: Family Zumba on the lawn 
    10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Family Boot Camp on the lawn 
    11 a.m. to Noon: Outdoor Pool Family Sneak Peak (Opening date not until Memorial Day Weekend) 
    Noon to 12:30 p.m.: Family Group Games on the lawn 
    12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.: Family Art on the lawn (Mother's Day Theme) 
    1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Family Sports on the lawn 
    1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Nutrition class / Teaching Kitchen

  • Tuesday, May 14 Grand Opening of the Northwest Y Early Learning Center Bordeaux  5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

    The Northwest YMCA has completed a major renovation of their preschool area and it now includes the Alex LeVasseur Multimedia Center and Lounge, an art studio, a teaching kitchen and more.

    Their event will be an open house but they will have activities in each of the spaces – physical games and activities in the activity center, healthy cooking demonstrations in the teaching kitchen, tours of the early learning center, etc.

  • Saturday, May 18 NashVitality Family Festival at Centennial Park 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. NashVitality Family Festival is a celebration of healthy eating and active living in the Nashville and Middle Tennessee community.

    Join us for games, active play and interactive demonstrations. Leave with the resources, information and inspiration your family needs to ensure a healthy and active summer.

    Activities Include:

    Make your own jump rope
    Soccer kicking
    Obstacle course
    Mini Boot Camp
    Veggie Mystery Boxes
    Family Zumba and other fitness classes

    Kick-off the day with a brisk stroll around Centennial Park and support the Nashville Children's Alliance at Nashville Walks for Nashville's Kids beginning at 9 a.m.

  • Saturday, May 18 & Sunday, May 19 Nashville Kids Triathlon Centennial Park
    May 18: Registration at 4 p.m.
    May 19: Event kicks off at 7 a.m.

    Ages six to 15 can participate in triathlon activities in junior and senior age divisions.

    A portion of the proceeds benefit Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and YMCA of Middle Tennessee.  Pre-registration is required.  This is a USATriathlon event.

  • June 1 Music City Sports Festival at the New Music City & Marshall Molar 5K Walk/Run

    Event kicks off at 7 a.m. at the new Music City Center.

    Registration ends May 30, 2013 at 5 p.m.  Registration includes admission to the Music City Sports Festival on May 31, 2013 and June 1, 2013.
