NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police, along with deputy U.S. Marshals arrested Eric Goodner, the teen wanted for the shooting death of a 17-year-old Pearl Cohn High School student Wednesday afternoon.

Goodner was taken into custody at an apartment complex located on Oak Valley Drive in east Nashville.

Authorities said the 17-year-old was inside the apartment alone and complied with commands to exit and surrender.

It remains unclear how long Goodner had been at the apartment complex.

Goodner was wanted by police for the murder of Johnathan Johnson which occurred on the morning of April 11 in the 1900 block of 10th Avenue North, near Clay Street.

Johnson was shot in the neck. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died a short time later.

Goodner is charged with criminal homicide in a juvenile court petition.

A detention hearing for Goodner is scheduled for Friday at 2:30 p.m.
