Man injured trying to douse fire at mobile home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A man was injured after trying to put out a fire that destroyed his mobile home early Thursday morning.

The fire was reported just before 1 a.m. in the 5100 block of Eaton's Creek Road near Old Hickory Boulevard.

The man living in the home attempted to put out the fire and received first and second-degree burns, mainly to his arms.

A woman living nearby saw the flames in the kitchen as she was arriving home.

She told Nashville's News 2 she attempted to douse the flames with a hose.

It wasn't immediately clear what started the fire.

The home is likely a total loss. The Fire Marshal was called to the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation.

No further details were immediately released.
