MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

A mother has been charged with her third DUI after being pulled over for a routine traffic stop with her son in tow.

The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday when police pulled over 44-year-old Lisa Fisher.

Police reported that Fisher failed to yield to the right of way to oncoming traffic at the corner of South Church Street and Warrior Drive.

Upon approaching the vehicle, police said that Fisher was lethargic in response and had slurred speech.

Police said Fisher was then asked to exit the vehicle and reported that she was unsteady and  needed the car to maintain her balance. Police then noticed her eyes were bloodshot and could smell alcohol.

When asked if she was drinking, police said she replied 'no'.

According to the report, Fisher could not perform or complete a field sobriety test as demonstrated by the officer.

Dispatch then advised that she had two prior DUIs in 2007.

Police then arrested Fisher on the grounds of her alleged intoxication and due to the fact that her 10-year-old son was in the car at the time of the incident.

She was booked at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and charged with reckless endangerment and driving under the influence for the third time.

The report also said that Fisher later admitted to drinking two glasses of wine.
