Flames rekindled at a north Nashville home that caught fire overnight Tuesday.The fire initially started around Midnight at a home on Drakes Branch Road near Briley Parkway.Cindy Moonrose and her husband were inside sleeping when the smell of smoke woke them.
They witnessed smoke coming from the attic, left the home and called 911.Crews quickly extinguished the fire and contained the damage to the upstairs area of the house.
Authorities reported that a firefighter suffered from dizziness while batteling the flames and was transported to the hospital for treatment.The Moonrose's slept in a cabin on their property later that night, but heard crackling noises several hours later around 3 a.m. Wednesday."I looked down and the house is on fire again, and it was just like yellow flames shooting out the roof, and it hadn't gotten that far before and I just couldn't believe it," explained Moonrose.
Crews returned to the scene and put the fire out within an hour.The house suffered serious damage following the second fire and is likely unlivable.Moonrose said she purchased the home in 1980. It was initially built in 1940. The couple plans to rebuild a more sustainable home.No further details were immediately released.
