NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Detectives are pursuing leads after a man was found shot to death Tuesday morning in the front passenger side of his parked car.

Jorge Insignares, 62, was first spotted by neighbors on Jonquil Drive near Benita Drive around 7 a.m.

So far police have learned that Insignares and his wife, Harriette, drove to Nashville from their Murfreesboro home midday on Monday.

Harriette told police that Insignares dropped her off in front of a business located on Welshwood Drive and was supposed to park and join her. Insignares never met Harriette so she arranged for a ride home.

She reported her husband missing to Rutherford County authorities Tuesday morning.

Detectives are working to identify the person(s) that Insignares encountered after dropping off his wife.

They reported that the scene of the crime strongly indicates that someone other than Insignares drove the Town Car to where it was found and that robbery may have been a motive.

Anyone who has seen the white Lincoln Town Car in the area of Nolensville Pike/Welshwood Drive/Jonquil Drive in the 1 p.m. time frame Monday is urged to contact South Precinct Investigations at 615-862-7763.
