Friday evening shots were fired in east Nashville sending one person to the hospital.
Just after 9 p.m. at a home on 211 Treutland Avenue, a 19-year-old male was in front of the house when two suspects approached him and opened fire.
The victim, in attempt to defend himself then drew his weapon and returned fire.
Several vehicles were hit by the rounds fired.
The victim was struck in the leg by a shot fired from one of the suspects.
He was taken to Baptist Hospital with a non life threatening injury.
Police said 28 shell casings and unspent rounds were recovered from the shooting site.
The investigation is ongoing.
