Woman arrested for assaulting officer with vehicle

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -
A woman faces multiple charges after she attempted to run an officer over with her vehicle on Saturday.
Hendersonville police were dispatched to Demo's Restaurant at 161 Indian Lake Boulevard.
Police received a call of that a woman had been stabbed.
Upon their arrival, the officers made contact with Angie Buffington.
Buffington told officers that she had been stabbed by her boyfriend in Nashville.
An ambulance was called to the scene and Buffington refused treatment. She had minor scrapes on her arms.
Metro Police Department advised Hendersonville officers that they were currently at the scene of an aggravated burglary in which Buffington was a suspect.
They requested that Buffington be taken into custody for the burglary and transferred to their officers.
When Hendersonville officers attempted to take Buffington into custody she became combative and refused to comply with officer commands.
She placed her vehicle in reverse and attempted to flee the scene, striking one officer on the leg, and endangering two others.
After crashing her vehicle into a sign, she attempted to flee the vehicle on foot and was then taken into custody.
Buffington was transported to the Sumner County Jail and is being charged with three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, one count of simple assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, evading arrest and vandalism over $500.
