NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A store clerk was punched in the face, while a customer was stabbed during an argument late Friday night.

According to police, two males entered the Shell gas station at 4800 Gallatin Pike in Nashville just after 11 p.m.

Metro police said the two men entered the market and tried to purchase beer.

Police claimed the clerk refused to sell the men alcohol because he said they were visibly intoxicated.

The customers began arguing with the clerk and he tried throwing them out of the store.

During the heated argument the clerk was punched in the face and one of the customers got stabbed.

It is unknown at this time which party was the primary aggressor.

The incident remains under investigation.
