Man stabbed by girlfriend during domestic dispute

LEBANON, Tenn. -

A domestic violence incident ended in a stabbing early Friday morning in Lebanon.

According to police, officers responded to the 1600 block of Classic View Drive just after 1 a.m. while responding to a 911 call.

During the call, a woman is heard saying she had an incident with her boyfriend.

The caller went on to say, "He was trying to beat me up and I stabbed him and he is having a hard time breathing."

The caller said she did not know where she stabbed the man because she was trying to get away from him.

"He is breathing, he is in the bathroom. I have been telling him to get out of the apartment. He won't leave, but I know he needs medical attention because I did stab him," she said.

Police told Nashville's News 2 the male was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville and was last listed in stable condition.

The incident remains under investigation.

Tennessee is ranked third in the nation in domestic violence homicides.
