COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -

Cookeville police arrested a man who worked at a tutoring center on Wednesday after he allegedly had sexual contact with a student.

According to a report in the Daily Herald Citizen, Jamie Jones engaged in unlawful sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl between July and August of 2012.

The newspaper reported the teenage victim, who was receiving services at Sylvan Learning Center where Jones was employed, told her mother of the allegations.

The girl's mother in turn contacted police.

Jones was booked into the Putnam County jail Wednesday afternoon. He has since been released on bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on July 5.
